Rules for Monthly Team Training

Only the competition team is eligible for monthly training.

Be on time.  We will start at 0900 at Novato Horsemen’s.  Athletes can meet at the Duffys earlier if they wish.

Carmelo Felix, our coach, will set the order of training and the training time for each discipline. You must follow Carmelo’s instructions at all times and not engage in any independent activies.

Each athlete needs to be attired in the proper equipment for each discipline at the appropriate time. Each athlete is responsible for having all their equipment in working order and ready to go at the appointed time.

Carpools will be arranged by the Pat Duffy for transport to the swimming pool.  A parent or Carmelo will be present at the pool to oversee  the training and assist the swim coach if requested.

Parents and other interested parties may observe the training but MAY NOT participate in the activity NOR may they offer individual athletes training tips.  If an observer has a training tip or comment about an individual athlete please inform Carmelo, or the swim  coach and let them deal directly with the athlete.  We are trying to train the athletes not confuse them or take away valuable training time.

Although food and drinks will normally be provided, please bring your own water and snacks and money for lunch.

Travel tips

Always call 24 hours ahead to make sure that the flight still exists and departure times have not changed. Coordinate any changes of plans with the organizer, chaperone, or coach.

Be at the airport at least one hour before departure for domestic flights and at least two hours before departure for foreign flights. Remember it will take longer to declare your air pistol.

Always have your coaches’ cell phone numbers with you and make sure they have your cell phone number. Do the same for your chaperones, if any. Keep your cell phones turned on when possible.

At your training/competition venue, always be on time. If workouts are at 7 a.m., you should be there at 6:45. And at competitions, you should arrive 30 minutes early. Keep checking with the organizers to make sure that times and/or places have not changed.
